Welcome to the 36th PSN Annual Convention!

Thank you for downloading the Convention App. This app is a mobile app which you can save in your mobile device’s home screen as an icon. Connection to the internet is needed for the app to refresh itself. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! EDSA Shangri-La will will provide us with hi-speed internet for free during the convention.

Please don’t forget to register your app so you can receive timely announcements anywhere you are. Once we get the permission of speakers to distribute their slides, we will do so through this app. It will be attached to the specific schedule of the presentation. 

At the end of each AM and PM lecture for each convention day, there will be a feedback button which you can press and answer through your mobile device. Please don’t forget to answer these short feedback forms. Your comments and feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Lastly, you can post your convention pics or comments with us through twitter, facebook and instagram using the hashtag #psn2016 in any of your posts and your posts will be displayed during the convention.

Dear Colleague,

Warm greetings!

Our 36th Annual Convention is barely 2 weeks and we are all looking forward to being gathered together again in the biggest and most anticipated event of the society. Please take note of the following reminders before you head out to EDSA Shangri-La on the 20th of April.

A. PRE-CONVENTION: April 20, 2016
 

  • Peritoneal Dialysis Workshop for Nurses. Kindly encourage your nurses to pre-register to attend this event. This workshop is open to all dialysis nurses. We can only accommodate a limited number of attendees, but there are a few more slots available, so for those interested in attending this activity, please call the secretariat to secure a slot on or before April 15, 2016. Session starts at 8:00am.

  • Renal Pathology for Nephrologists. This workshop is open to nephrologists only. We can only accommodate a limited number of attendees, but there are a few more slots available, so for those interested in attending this activity, please call the secretariat to secure a slot on or before April 15, 2016. For those attending, please be there by 7:30 to claim your IDs and kits. Session starts at 8:00am.

  • REGISTRATION FOR ANNUAL CONVENTION. Early birds can register for the Annual Convention starting at 11 am on April 20.

  • ORIENTATION of New Fellows and Diplomates and Applicants for Members in Training – April 20, 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. All new fellows, diplomates and members in training MUST attend this session. Instructions for the induction will also be given during the orientation.

  • CHAPTER PRESIDENTS’ MEETING. April 20, 2016, 5:00-6:00 pm. COMING IN EARLY ON THE 20th WILL PREPARE YOU FOR AN EARLY START THE FOLLOWING DAY FOR THE OPENING CEREMONIES.

B. CONVENTION PROPER, April 20-24, 2016

  • SPEAKERS. Our invited foreign guests include Drs. Claudio Ronco , Ikuto Masakane, Jai Radhakrishnan, Adrian Liew and Pedro Jose. Aside from our own local nephrologists, we have invited our colleagues from other professions.

  • OPENING CEREMONIES. April 21, 2016. All participants should be ready and gowned by 7:30 AM. Opening ceremonies will start promptly at 8:00 AM. Everyone is enjoined to attend and listen to the inspirational talk of our very own Keynote Speaker AGNES E. DOMINGUEZ-MEJIA, MD. Be there to join us as we welcome our new diplomates and fellows and congratulate this year's PSN awardees.

  • OPENING OF EXHIBITS. Exhibits and booths will be opened during the morning coffee break immediately after the Opening Ceremonies, before the 1st plenary lecture.

  • LUNCH AND DINNER SYMPOSIA. Our friends from the pharmaceutical industry are offering lunch and dinner symposia. There will be two lunch symposia on April 21 sponsored by Sanofi and Novo Nordisk, two lunch symposia on April 22 sponsored by Biomedis and Pharmalink and on April 23 sponsored by LRI-Therpharma and Boehringer Ingelheim. The dinner symposium on April 21 is sponsored by Fresenius Medical Care.

  • We have NEW ACTIVITIES during the annual convention: April 23, 2016: DEBATE: HE SAID, SHE SAID: What do evidences Say? And PSN QUIZ CONTEST

  • DIALYSIS FORUM. April 23, 1:30 – 3:00 pm. Open for everybody, the session will tackle current issues and updates on both hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.

  • TRAINING CORE'S MEETING. April 23, 1:30 – 2:30 pm. For the Chairs/Heads, Training Officers and PSN Board of Trustees, PSN Specialty Board Members and Chapter Presidents only. 

  • BUSINESS MEETING. April 23, 3:00pm. Attendance in the Business Meeting is a MUST for all diplomates and fellows. Attendance in annual business meetings is a requirement to maintain your membership in good status and appreciate what the PSN has done for you in the past year.

  • CLOSING CEREMONIES and FELLOWSHIP NIGHT. April 23, 6:00 pm. Join us during our Closing Ceremonies and Fellowship Night with the theme “Your PSN Sounds Familiar” . Sing, dance and dine with us. 

C. OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • EXERCISE YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE. Voting is open from April 21, 8am until April 23, 12 noon.

  • As courtesy and support for the pharmaceutical companies who have sponsored educational lunch/sunset lectures, we would like to appeal to the members to refrain from accepting invitations to dine out during lecture periods. The company representatives have been advised not to invite attendees out during regular and pharma sponsored lecture periods. 

  • There will be no dinner symposium on Friday, April 22, to give way to reunions and invitations from your pharmaceutical sponsors.We would like to encourage those who are tech-savvy to save the program into your smart phones for easier reference about the convention schedules.
